Ecological participation (guiding child-led learning in a forest)

Greetings from wet wintry Tree Elbow.

Today we are sharing both audio-only and video versions of our recent online session, Ecological participation (guiding child-led learning in a forest). Once again the format is a one hour presentation by Magpie and Blue Wren (with cameos by Woody and Lilly Pilly), followed by 30 minutes of goodly question time.

Here is the audio-only version,

and here is the video.

And speaking of ecological participation, we also share here two recent videos from Woody’s channel, Making venison jerky and Chopping wood with a Viking-made splitter.

As always your comments and responses are most welcome, and if you’d like to book in for either of the next two online sessions, you can do so here: Community sufficiency – living within gift, non-monetary and subsistence economies and Joyful resistance – online house and garden tour (the nuts and bolts of our systems).

Sending you rainy, wintery love from our hearth,
Artist as Family

What a wonderful sharing of your experience and commitment to this really vital thing. The lived remembering of what it is to be human in the Mother. I am going to be caring for my grandaughter a couple of days a week soon and am so excited about taking her into the forest and to the beaches where we live. ps I loved Tilly Pilly waving to us (via Woody), the joy and the mischief both in the kinship between the two beings. 1. Oh, beautiful Little Grey Warbler! Lilly Pilly’s forest name is Ringtail Possum.

Really grateful to hear the stories of forest and free, and honoring different stages of life. Curiosity for folks who desire to do something similar in community. Our micro family goes out in the forest and practices self-directed learning- and am challenged to find community on a regular basis to venture into forest. Thank you – I have been really relishing in these conversations….and appreciated the naming of community sufficiency over individual self sufficiency. – Your friends across the ocean
